A key partner of the ITNewcom Foundation is Yalari, a not-for-profit organisation that offers Indigenous children from regional, rural and remote communities and towns across Australia the opportunity for a first-class secondary education, through scholarships to attend some of Australia’s leading boarding schools. Yalari will be recommending indigenous students to the ITNewcom Foundation as potential recipients of the scholarships.
The University of New South Wales is the first University partner of the ITNewcom Foundation. UNSW will be providing academic support and on-campus accommodation to theITNewcom Foundation scholars.
The ITNewcom Foundation will also be partnering with the IT industry as they will be a major source of funding for the scholarships. Since 2001, ITNewcom has produced an annual invitation-only study – the ITNewcom IT Market Study - with most respondents in the top 100 in terms of IT Spend. The customised report that we produce to each participant, and the insights we present to suppliers on an aggregated basis provide members of the IT industry with significant benefit which we have not charged for to date.
However, from this year, we will be inviting the IT industry to contribute to the ITNewcom Foundation as a reflection of the value they receive, and also as an opportunity for them to make a difference to the education of indigenous Australians.
The ITNewcom Annual 2011 IT Market Report covers technology trends, supplier performance, sourcing trends and IT spend. Interviews for this year’s study will be conducted in April and May 2011.
